The Tudor House is the oldest remaining habitat of old Meregate dating back to 1525. It is in the form of a “transitional House”. that is bridging the gap between the medieval open hall and the early modern house with two stories throughout
The house contains many interesting features that indicate that it was a high-status building, including glazed windows and two chimneys. At one time one chimney was considered noteworthy and glass was very expensive.
We have a collection of Tudor Clothing and Tudor Children’s’ games.
Sit in the tranquil gardens or listen in the music room to live Tudor Music
The Tudor House is opened by Volunteer Museum Assistants and is opened throughout the year.
