The Hong Kong Prize

The hk prize is an independent merit-based award that honors scientific research with significant societal benefits. It encourages young people to follow their passions and broaden their global perspectives. Moreover, it offers a valuable opportunity to win scholarships that help with their studies. Those who have published papers in peer-reviewed journals are eligible to apply for the award. The winner will receive a monetary prize as well as opportunities to intern at Hong Kong’s premier research institutions.

The winner of the hk prize will be selected through an impartial, three-tier process that involves a nomination committee, selection panels, and the prize council. During the selection process, judges will evaluate each submission based on its merit and impact.

In addition to the monetary prize, winners will be given the chance to intern at one of Hong Kong’s top research institutes for six months. This will give them the opportunity to network with renowned scientists and expand their professional horizons. They will also be able to attend seminars and conferences within their field of study. Moreover, they will be able to work alongside cutting-edge researchers who have gone on to win Nobel prizes.

Aside from recognizing the achievements of scientists, the hk prize is also meant to inspire scientific exploration and innovation in Hong Kong. Those who are passionate about science can be nominated for the prize by anyone, including local or overseas scholars and experts. The finalists will be chosen by a distinguished panel of judges which will include Dr. Aron Harilela, Founder and CEO of Harilela Hotels, Matt Chung, Founder and Chairman of Gallery Ascend, Heiman Ng, Founder of Art Prince Advisory, Melissa Digby-Bell, Head of Curatorial at A Space for Art, and a number of other esteemed industry professionals.

Lui Che-woo established the prize to recognize Hong Kong researchers who make contributions toward world civilisation and society harmony, including those who have profound ramifications for business, finance, engineering and other applications. It is open to individuals and research teams whose work has been published in a journal with international circulation. The prize carries a monetary value of HK$2 million and is accompanied by a certificate and trophie.

Those who are interested in applying for the hk prize must have published articles that demonstrate superior writing skills and an in-depth knowledge of their subject matter. They should also have a clear and impactful statement about their research in the broader context of society at large. The judging panel is made up of experts in different fields, so they will be able to assess each application thoroughly and fairly.

US lawmakers called for the hk prize to be awarded broadly to those who have pushed for human rights and democracy in Hong Kong, after Beijing stepped up its crackdown on dissent following last year’s protests. They included students, teachers, journalists, lawyers, politicians and labor activists, as well as dissidents like Cai Xia, who taught at the Central Party School before she left for the United States in protest of China’s ruling Communist Party regime.
