For those who aren’t able to afford a private pool but still want to swim in a clean and well-maintained swimming pool, there are some good public pools to go to in Hong Kong. They are affordable and offer great facilities for kids and adults. They are usually equipped with fountains and splash buckets that make the pool even more fun. You can also find pool toys and inflatables like water slides, floating chairs or rafts.

Most public swimming pools in Hong Kong are cleaned regularly and are safe to use. Some have outdoor pools that open during the summer months and some have indoor pools for when the weather is not so hot. A popular destination for kids, this pool is close to the Airport Express and a quick walk from the MTR. There are two indoor pools, a Jacuzzi and outdoor swimming pools for the kiddies to enjoy – one with their own water slides and animal-shaped fountains. The kids will be in heaven!

It’s a good idea to take a towel, sunscreen and a change of clothing to the pool. Many pools have changing rooms and lockers, but you will need a coin to use them. Located in the heart of Wan Chai, this pool has two outdoor swimming pools and an indoor pool with Jacuzzi. It’s a hit with the kids, especially the older ones – the outside pool has big slides that are perfect for their height! It’s right across from Belcher’s Bay Park, so once the kids have exhausted their energy in the pool, they can hop over for a run or some outdoor play.

The only downside is that it’s a little out of the way for those staying in central. But it’s a great pool to take the kids to if you’re on the east side of town.

This outdoor pool has a great view of the mountains and has a toddler training pool as well as an indoor pool. It is a favourite with families and also has a few small slides, water shooters and animals to climb on. It’s open every day except Monday.
